Around noontime on Saturday, September 11 2021, the cars started lining up. The attraction? The Rotary Club’s popular Chicken & Rib Barbeque!
The club has been holding the barbeque for years now but this was the first time the barbeque was held a second time in one year. Members were concerned that the event would not go well a second time but their fears were unnecessary. The Medina community came out in great numbers again!
Since the event was held on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, part of the cost of the meal was donated to the local volunteer fire departments of Shelby, East Shelby and Ridgeway. The event raised over $600 in donations.
The plans are to bring the barbeque back again in the Spring of 2022.
