IN THE SPIRIT OF HOLIDAY GIVING AND SHARING :

Salvation Army Bell Ringers: On Saturday, December 21st several Rotarians volunteered to help the Salvation Army in the holiday collections.  The Salvation Army reported that the Rotarians collected $737.76.  Thanks to the following for their bell ringing:  Rod Cook, Dayne Wendling, Dan Watson, Dale Laykun, Roy Harriger, John Sobotincic and Ken Tender.  An extra special thanks also to Dayne Wendling and his wife for designing and providing a sign used during the bell ringing that highlighted “Medina Rotary Serving Medina”.

Hospice Light up a Life Project:  Thank you for the volunteers who went to South Park Mall on December 14th:  Mark Farnham, Bill Breck, Melanie Hillebrand, Sue Kozak, Bill Hauck, Nancy Hauck, John Jeandrevin, Kevin Wermer, Paul Williams, Linda Radencic (and friends), Karen Gayner and Jane Craig.

Exchange Student Trip:  On Friday, December 27th, 16 exchange students from District 6330 had an interesting excursion.  They had a tour of the State House, lunch at Schmidt’s Restaurant and then spent the remainder of the day at Cosi (a science museum).  Ralph Waite, Bob Baisch, John Kanieski and Roger Cline (from Stow) went along as the chaperones.  Everyone then returned to Carl & Sherry Abell’s “Once upon a Sundae” for a potluck dinner.  Carl and Sherry provided ice cream after dinner (YUM!! THANKS CARL & SHERRY).  After dinner, the students went off to various host families: the Feron’s Hillebrand’s, Rentos’, Kanieski’s, McDonald’s, Waite’s and Baisch’s.

Thank you to all who helped make this day a success for the students.

Future trips for the students include Washington/Gettysburg on April 10-13th (cost is $325 with the $175 deposit due on January 15th to Ralph Waite) and Florida on June 22-27th (cost is $595 with the $300  deposit due by February 15th).
